Hi, again. It’s me - the EG newb. I am looking to get my third pair of EGs. Specifically, I’m looking to get a pair of Doak Dovers. However, I’m torn. I love the 82 and 202 lasts. They fit perfectly. I’m on the fence about the 606 last, not because it won’t fit, but because it has a square toe. I have an aversion to square toes, much more of a classic round toe guy. Am I crazy here? Pics to prove me wrong? Should I just give up on life and wear TOMS every day?

I have 3 dovers all on the 606. IMHO it does not wear square at all.
I love the 606 and 888 (old ones) for shoes and the 202 for boots.

The square toe on the 606 seems more of an optical illusion.

The actual upper is rounded, but the sole is slightly squared off. I rather like the look and adds a bit of sophistication and visual interest to the shoe.

I agree with this. The 82 is also my favorite last, but not for the Dover. 202 or 606 is your go to here. 202 is classically rounded which you can not go wrong with it. This will pair pretty much with any trouser, or pair of jeans. As @earthdragon stated ,the 606 does not wear square really. I think this one is better suited for casual situations only because I prefer it with a grain leather.

In summation, 202 can not go wrong with a smooth leather. 606 in a grained leather.
