What are the best practices for care for the country calf leather? VSC/Renovateur? How about water resistance? I have a pair of Galways on 82 in Rosewood coming Monday and would love to know what you guys do to care for the country calf. The boots seem super durable but I'd love any thoughts on how you use/abuse/care for them! :alien:

Just wear it & enjoy & once in a while add some conditioner like vsc, bick 4 etc. At least that’s all I do. If you desire you can shine it etc. Other wise it’s a low maintenance boot. Also doing basic brushing before & after wearing.

Great, thanks. I'm not new to good shoes, just to country calf/pebble grain. :alien: I've got some black shell Westminsters (888) arriving today and am so eager to start breaking them in.

I searched and couldn't find an answer:

Are the prices for a particular EG MTO design standardized across all 3rd party retailers (e.g. Leffot, Gentleman's Footwear, Sid Mashburn, etc.) or is it worth shopping around?

It seems like all retailers I've come across put a premium on customer service and satisfaction, so besides location and potentially price, I'm not sure how to distinguish between the options.

I want to say EG is pretty good at standardizing prices. If you can make it to a trunk show though, I know Leffot at least offers free shoe trees and/or waives the MTO fee.

Any one got comparison between the old and new doak colour?

Seems it's changed quite significantly

Thanks in advance, gents!

Politically incorrect view - people have been talking about dark oak color fluctuations for two years here, and it is astonishing to me that EG cannot seem to solve it, but since they seem to get away with price increases along the way...
