1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Not done it yet, but will use the Chelsea wax on a few pairs of boots and try and see if the stuff is actually any different to Obenauf's. To be fair, these things are probably all the same and, if I'm being honest, the Obenauf's smells better than the Chelsea.

Will be doing some of the waxing tomorrow, all being well.

I just received my EG Navy Cordovan Wingtips.

    I'm so pumped.

Unfortunately there really isn't any good light right now, so I'll have to take some pictures later.

Sorry - you don't get to post here again unless pics of the navy cordovan wingtips are included. [IMG] [IMG]

And here they are. Very impressed with how the Chelsea Leather Food was absorbed by the boots, and the dubbin didn't leave the greasy hangover you often find with stuff like this.

Very nice, wouldn't mind owning a pair myself. Just curious on how E.G.'s in shell crease. I have never owned a pair of shoes in shell cordovan, but have seen allot of Aldens in shell on this forum, they seem to crease pretty heavily across the vamp. Can any one chime in as to how E.G.'s in shell hold up against creases vs calf.

IMO creases are near impossible to predict. As mentioned earlier in the thread both alden and eg among others source from horween. The quality in theory should be the same. Really depends on your gate, how the last fits your foot, and general care.

EG creases subtly when fitted properly. They look more like smooth little speed bumps then deep wavvy ripples. IME, the aldens that did crease heavily did so because of a poor fit.

It does seem like the EGs cordovan leather although made by Horween is a bit different than my Aldens or my Crockett and Jones Marlows.

Thank you! They're three out of the four stock veldtschoen models. The missing one is the shearling-lined rosewood country calf model.
