Gents, does any of you have the "in between half a size" issue lately? For example, I've noticed that with their new resin lasts (202 affected as well) the size UK 9.5 E is a bit loose on heel out of box and I can as well close the laces gap as if the shoes are well worn in. Whilst walking, a heel also feels a bit loose, and I'm afraid this might get worse over the period of time.

If I however size down to UK 9 E, I do feel a bit of a pressure on my fingers and the lace gap is there this time.

I am a bit frustrated with the fit lately as this problem never occurs when I try on a new pair of Crockett Jones, John Lobb or Church's shoes, all in size UK 9 E . They all fit just as the new shoes should fit - a bit tight, but not too much. It just seems impossible for me to nail the correct size with the EG.

I have the same issue with 202. I can't size down because of length but it seems like there's too much volume in my normal size. Not sure if I ever tried any pairs that were made using the wooden lasts, I purchased most of my pairs recently.

lol that was 4 of 4.
the 2 top drawers, the 72 lasted rosewood CC galway from a few pages ago and this 202 burgundy Delaware galway

Ahh, I missed the Rosewood CC Galway. I’ve held that in person and it’s awesome!

Looking forward to seeing your next box from Steve! :D

Try 9.5 D. E width in 82 fits me almost perfectly, and while I used to get E in 202, I tried D at the shop last year and found it about as good as 82. Obviously the shape of your feet might make your experience different.

I'm planning to order a pair of Oundles on the 202 last and am debating between burgundy and nightshade. I already own the Dovers in dark oak and want something a bit darker but still versatile. What do you all suggest? Is nightshade EG's version of Color #8 by Alden; a dark purplish eggplant color? Any daytime shots of the nightshade would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Hello all,

I’m not too far away from my first resole on a pair of Chelsea’s and wondered whether a dainite sole is a valid option due to the curvature of the sole from side to side. I’m sure if that’s a general EG style or model specific as this is my on pair of EG’s. Look forward to hearing your opinions, Jack.
