Thanks. I was the “Lucky Guy” I guess and purchased the pair mentioned on the previous page.

I had a very frustrating result with saks and this sale. Twice last week I got an order through only to have them cancel it both times.

That sucks. I assumed that was going to be the situation for me but within two hours, I received shipping/tracking info.

    Hi everyone,

New member here. I recently purchased a pair of Edward Green unlined loafers as can be seen below.

I have two questions that I really need help with:

    (1) I sprayed some suede protection (liquiproof) on the pair of shoes. However, the suede became darker and less "lively". Before I applied the spray, the suede was more "alive" and 3-dimensional, if anyone gets what I mean. Now the colour looks very solid. Is there anything I can do? I've tried brushing it. The colour is suppose to be "Pepper" but now it seems to have turned into Dark Brown??

    (2) Should I put shoetrees in it? I'm afraid that it will stretch.

This is how they looked when I first got them.

Can anyone help? Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask; please point me in the correct direction if that is the case.

    Thanks in advance.

What brand suede spray did you use? Most here use either Saphir or tarrago nano. I use nano personally and don’t notice any real change in color or overall appearance. Since you already sprayed them i doubt there is much you can do except wear them and hope as the spray wears away the original color comes back.

Shoe trees shouldn’t stretch your shoes out provided they fit correctly. Using Edward Green shoe tress would ensure a good fit but I’ve had success with wood lore epics as well.

    Hi,

I used a brand called liquidproof. I really hope it wears off. The details of the spray says that the protection will last for up to 24 washes, I am hopeful that it is not permanent.

Here is a reference picture of how it looks "brand new"

Mine just looks so flat now compared to this.

There are also a lot of hairs standing up on mine?

I’m not familiar with that particular product. Unfortunately what’s done is done and I don’t think there is much you can do at this point. You could try to clean them but I really think the best course of action is to just wear them and see what happens.
