Those zug Galways are hardcore. Is this Zug from Horween or were they able to find some of the original?

So I've just acquired my first pair of EG's (from Ebay I confess). They are in great shape, look great... but smell terrible. For a few days I wondered if somehow my baby's dirty diaper made its way into my office. Eventually I realized it was the shoe! I can't imagine has anything to do with Edward Green. Still, if you have any suggestions. It is a bit of chemical smell...

Kiwi polish? That's what EG used to use for antiquing.

Speaking of which, has anyone had luck recently with the GlenKaren successor, www.purepolishproducts.com ? The website says they're completely out of stock, and they're not responding to e-mails.

Were they pre-owned/worn several times by the previous owner?

Oh yes, definitely pre-owned. In good shape, but far from new.

That is my worst nightmare and why I've always steered clear of used shoes...until just recently and got lucky with a virtually new pair of vibergs. I often browse ebay but the thought of smelly shoes is frightening.

Anyone have experience with the slim/flexible rubber sole on snow and ice? I find the Dainite slippery and I am looking for a discrete option as Ridgeway is a bit too much. Any thoughts or experience would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.
