My first experience with Edward Green and why it pays to go in to see them.

I ordered the Inverness Burgundy but they were too big and I decided it'd be better in the long run to fly down to London, exchange them in person and save messing around with postal returns and possible further failures.

1) They didn't have my size in stock in the burgundy but they did have the dark oak Inverness, these aren't even listed on their website and they matched my suit much better so it was a great result and I'm delighted to now have my first pair of EG. I'd never have had them if I didn't go in to see them.

2) Robert, the sales person, was wearing a pair that I really liked, it turned out they were the Falkirk (which aren't made anymore) with burnt pine and almond country calf with the 202 last. They looked fantastic with cream trousers and I love the all over broguing, there's so much more of it than any other style they currently offer. I couldn't resist and ordered the exact same pair and I feel very thankful because I didn't know you could custom order styles that aren't made anymore.

Those two pairs alone, I think, are a fantastic entry into my new EG era and they alone will go with almost any colour of trouser, the Falkirk for lighter and the Inverness for darker.

Without going into the store I wouldn't have either of them, I would've had the burgundy Inverness sent out only to find they were still too big.

Always go in to see them if you can, you never know what you might come out with!
Congrats and good advice!

Hello SF,

I have recently bought myself a pair of Picadilly Loafers from EG in 8/8.5 and though I have worn this last in this size which fit me great, loafers apparently from EG don't work for me. I will probably undergo bespoke next time I'm in the UK but for now I have no choice to sell them since I got them at a discounted price. I am open to offers either in cash or trades if anyone wants to do that. (Sorry if this post is against the rules, I'll take it down if so)

Hey guys, I really need to get sell these NIB MacKays (Asquith!). I just dropped the price on it.

Sorry to spam, but B&S has slowed to a crawl.

I actually wonder why even after moving the Forum to a new place there is still no possibility to search B&S for specific Brands or the location of the seller. I for example am in EU and therefore buying outside of it makes no sense because of customs so I don't bother with B&S anymore.

Also depends on the carrier. I've found that sending by courier will likely result in duties. But sending by local post lessens the odds you'll get dinged.
