There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Can you post some pics of your pair? Would love to see them in the wild.

I find the 184 last to be true to size. It is a comfortably snug fit for me. I think it the best last on which EG makes loafers. In comparison I find 101 last which is used for the RLPL Barksdale has an extremely low instep and it took a long time for me to break in he shoe. Last 909 on which RLPL Javant loafers are made is relatively longer; somewhat similar to the 82 last.

To me, these are way better than the EG version. Sorry guys, the EG version look like shoes with horsebits attached. These are casual moccasins which should be worn casually and the EG shoes look way too serious. I do not understand why either would be worn with suits.

    +1

Could not agree with you more. Love H-bits and love tassels and believe EG makes great tassel loafers.

New friends - a bit off topic from the h-bit discussion...

I am heading to London on vacation at the end of the month for a few days and have always toyed with the idea of heading to the EG factory/store in Northampton to see the factory and hopefully score some deals at the factory store. Question is – besides visiting the mecca of shoes, what can I expect in terms of offerings and prices? (Figured since I am in the area, it would be worth dropping by JL, and C&J as well.)

Appreciate any advice and wisdom on the matter! (apologies if this message is poorly placed in the forum – should I have posted this elsewhere?)

PS. What makes more sense, taking the train or hiring a car, if I am staying in central London?

Thanks for posting them. They look fantastic. Do you feel you can dress up the unlined model?

Train. I thinks it's about 30GPB round trip from London. Then take a cab around town. A couple of the shops are just a quick walk from another. If you are up for it, you can just as easily walk around town as I did. Northampton isn't very large

Also, call in advance. The EG factory shop is not open everyday. Details here: http://www.northamptonshireleather.com/pdf/factory-shoe-shop-directory.pdf

That's okay, both my parents hate them too. Let's not try and figure out if that's part of the appeal for me.

The Aksel's from DSW are Hazel. Got my pair today. Actually a welcome surprise for me - I thought they were going to be dark oak. They are slightly lighter than dark oak. When I say slightly I mean very slightly. I have 9 pairs in dark oak and if you told me these were dark oak I'd probably believe you. There is some variance in dark oak and my Beaulieu's in dark oak are extremely close to these in Hazel. My first pair in Hazel and it is a great color. Thanks for the PSA.
