Saphir shoe trees are fine. Whats wrong with the ones you've got?
I don't think yours are the chelsea model though as the heel is different.
The modern chelseas also have a 'swann neck', something older models dont have.

I believe those are the Albemarle. Wanted to get those in Slate myself. Today I have my Slate alternative: [IMG] Curious to see if others have shoes/boots in Slate... pics!

Just purchased these stunning EG Alderley boots from a fellow SF member.

I am very pleased with them...but there seems to be excess leather -- at least from my vantage point -- towards the back of the boots when I wear them. They fit me well. The boots are my size in the 202 last. But what causes this -- my thin ankles and narrow feet? Is this normal?

Thoughts would be appreciated. Can I get an insert for this area of the boot?

    HS,

This is normal for boots, nothing to worry about. What color is it if I may ask?

I was down in Carmel on Wednesday and saw these at Khaki's of Carmel. They had just come in. I love this classic look combined with the Dianite sole.

Is this walnut country calf? I was initially worried that my walnut Galways might be a little 'flat' in colour as they wore, but they've developed some nice, subtle tones in the patina.
