Hi all,

I'm wondering if anyone has tried all three of these lasts? I have a vintage pair of Dovers in size 9.5E UK (no corresponding US size marked on these) and they fit well albeit my toes get cramped towards the end of the day. How do the 202 and 606 lasts fit in comparison, especially the toe box? From what I gather, I should be ok in the 202 last, but after searching various old threads I'm still not sure about the 606.

Many thanks!

I find the 606 to be nearly as generous as the 202 to be honest.

@Terminator - I only just stumbled upon this, three years too late to answer your question!

The 202 last is EG's "classic" last and it's nice and roomy, with a rounder toe.

The 606 last is actually the same last as the 202, but with a "soft square" toe, rather than a round toe.

So a pair on the 606 last will fit very similarly to a pair on the 202 last - it will only be the very tip of the shoe that will have less room.

I take a UK9.5 in regular width in both the 202 and 606 lasts and they feel the same to me. EG uses (or used to, at least) precisely the same lasted shoe trees for the 202 and 606 shoes.

Cheers mate, and not too late at all. I’ve since added another pair of 32 last Dover but not yet pulled the trigger on 202 or 606 since I’ve had my last few shoes made by St Crispin. I still love EG though!
