Can members please post some pics of 3r2 coats (I imagine several have already, but I have difficulty identifying them as such). In particular, I am curious to see if this style leads to a reduction in 'shirt space' when compared to a regular 2-button coat.

Also, any comments on the advantages of this style?

Thanks: ET

All of my jackets are a 3 roll 2. Here are a few pics.

The difference between a 2 and 3 button? It varies by maker. A 3 button tends to be a little more vertical in the torso but not always as shown by the second jacket with the elbow patches. The top is Borrelli. The bottom Cucinelli.

Regular 3-button jacket means that the lapel rolls to the third button. 3-roll-2 means it's basically a 2-button suit with a third button in the lapel, i.e., rolled to the 2nd button. PSguy's first jacket looks more like 3-roll-2.5 (in between). 3-roll-2:

I really like this style myself.

Not going to argue the difference between 3r2 and 3r2.5, so I've labeled all as 3r2...you make the call.

Binge, your hand in your navy jacket, it looks so casual and dapper. Looking good.

It's really not that hard to tell the difference between 3-roll-2 and 3-roll-2.5.

I was going to agree with this, then realized the image is from my photobucket.

Congratulations! You have the first hit on google image search under "3-roll-2." Edit: Oddly enough, this is #6 or #7...

Thanks. It was upon that moment that I fully embraced the group-think which is patch pockets.

A lot of pics in this thread are of 3-roll-2.5 coats. 3-roll-2 is like the Brooks coat, where the button and corresponding buttonhole roll completely under the lapel.
