Hello everyone, I was doing a search on ZIRH's products to see if there were any reviews, and I was brought to this forum. I'm pretty overwhelmed by all the different products and brands out there for men. This is actually my first time purchasing skin care products for myself, as it was never a priority for me to care. Recently I've had many people say that my skin looks very old or I look much much older than I really am.

I'm not quite sure where to start. I have an oily type of skin on my face, but at the same time it also has some dry flaking. Does that count as both oily and dry?

There seems to be so many products/brands, is it mostly trial and error? how long do you usually stick to something before moving on?

Wash, scrub, moisturizer, lotion, aftershave, eye balm, etc etc. whhattt??? I usually shave with water and no aftershave haha. If someone can help me out with some tips and advice and maybe some brands to look into, I"d greatly appreciate it.

Trial and error.

Go to a nice store that has a variety of products like a Nordstrom, Barneys, etc. Get samples, they should have drawers full of them.

i've been actively trying to find products that work for me for at least 5 years, and i'll agree that it takes alot of trial and error. as far as price and quality i really like anthony for men. i started out with them across the board and then replaced certain products with other brands in hope of finding something that works better. kiehl's, jack black, bumble and bumble, and art of shaving have all made their way in there, and a few brands (clinique for men) didn't make the cut after a trial. get samples, but some products you'll have to try for weeks or months to know for sure. just trial and error, but it can be fun if you make it.

I've been using Kiehl's oatmeal facial wash for a long time. I think I might stick with that brand and see what else they have to offer, and start off from there. This is what I just bought right now. Facial Srub Kiehl's Pineapple Papaya Facial Scrub Facial Wash Kiehl's Rare-Earth Oatmeal Milk Toner Kieh's Tea Tree Oil Toner Serum Kiehl's Abyssine Serum + Eye Care Kiehl's ABYSSINE EYE CREAM (I was debating either this or the CLARIN'S, since many people says good things about them) Moisturizer Kiehl's Men Facial Fuel I sort of jumped the gun on this, since they provided free shipping on 75$+ orders and I've been using Kieh's facial wash for a while. The most expensive items were the serum 44$ and the eye cream $33. Maybe because of the Abbyssine. How do they compare to Clarins?

trial and error until I find something perfect that I can't NOT buy anymore. I find trial sizes are too small for me to accurately determine if I like something or not. Lots of false positives.

I've used facial fuel, while I found that the cool tingling sensation was nice, I didn't feel it was great for cleansing all that much. I do like their ultimate facial mostiurizer and their #1 lip balm.

BTW, 90% of sales associates have no idea what they're talking about.

I've generally been impressed with Jack Black's line of products overall, as well as Anthony Logistics for facial stuff. The jack Black's scrub is particularly good as is the Anthony Logistic clay mud mask.

Sounds like you have normal/combination skin to me, which is the same as me.

I use Zirh and really like it. If you're interested in getting some, they offer two starter kits or whatever, both the same except one has shave gel instead of Scrub. Personally I always keep a supply of their Shave Gel (not the best stuff, but it's pretty good), Scrub, Protect, Correct, and Clean. Works great for me.

This is after trying a lot of other products.

I've tried numerous face washes and moisturisers over the years. The list includes:

- Lab Series
- Biotherm
- Clarins
- Clinique
- Loreal
- Kiehls

I am just finishing off a tube of Lab Series facewash. Not happy with is as I don't like foam washes that don't foam very well. Yesterday. I purchased the Kiehls facewash (it's blue) which has a cooling effect on my skin and lathers very well. I also have this toner that I sometimes use to dry up my oil prone skin. Kiehls makes some good products. Very well priced and you get a lot of value there too.

It's taken hundreds of $$ to get to this conclusion though.

Hopefully the shaving part is a joke! If not, I would fix that regimen asap. Get yourself a nice razor, badger hair brush and nice shave cream. I like 'Art of Shaving's' products, however, there are certainly other brands out there that are good. I use their lavender scented shave cream because I have sensitive skin and it works great.

Hahah yea, that wasn't a joke. Is there something that I'm missing out on? or is this really really damaging to my skin?

My father never taught me how to shave, and when I first did it, I DID use shaving cream, but after a while, I just got lazy and used water, and it seemed to work

BTW, do you guys think being 20 years old is too young to use skincare Serum?? Or even the eye cream?? I don't have nice skin, and my forehead isn't smooth, but it also doesnt have really bad wrinkles like anti-aging. Does it hurt to use it at a young age?

I heard people say, if you start using it, the skin will become dependent on it and you must continue using it? Is this true or just a myth.

Personally, I feel that you should always have some sort of barrier between your skin and a razor. I don't think you need to go overboard with a super thick lather, but you should definitely apply something to your face before shaving whether it's a pre-shave oil or shave cream. I think pre-shave oil is an unecessary product, so I only use shave cream. I would also recommend shaving after a hot shower. If you can't do that, dampen your face with a hot towel before shaving to soften the hair folicles. This should make it easier and less irritating on your skin. Also, I want to reiterate the use of a moisturizer after shaving. I don't recommend an alcohol based after shave. You should use some sort of balm or even better, a facial moisturizer. After trying out various products, I'm now using a moisturizer made by Nivea that has an SPF in it. This seems to work very well.

NO! I used Zirh products throughout college and a lot of other products. I still look like I'm in my early to mid 20s (I'm 32 now). I'm glad I did, looking back.

thats Xericx, thats good to know and makes it more comfortable for me to use it without worrying about being "too young".

So I'm guessing you used the Zirh's anti-aging products such as rejunvinate?

I used mainly the clean, restore and protect. I took some of the stuff with Pycogenol in it as well.

I think that's the main thing, just clean and moisurize your face every night. not sure if all the anti-wrinkle stuff is worth it. I don't think they had that even when I was taking it back then...they had some sort of grape seed extract thing....but on a college student's budget, it was a bit overboard to go crazy with it. just get the basics down mainly.
