Would it be safe to say that Ed Hardy is only for people who don't want to put any effort in to finding something nice to wear but still want to give the impression that they have money?

For me, I don't get the impression that wearing Ed Hardy correleates in any way whatsoever to one's wealth.

It does correleate directly to their lack of taste, regardless of how much or little they have in the bank.

Who he? Are these the t-shirts you see in C21 'discounted' to $40? Sort of lame tatoo-like designs?

A friend of mine (a woman no less), showed me her new Ed Hardy belt recently. To me it conveyed a sense of trashiness and a complete blindness to taste in an effort to follow a trend.
That **** is expensive?

^ Yep, I know there are some $40 but some of that stuff can get up there. I actually saw a guy this weekend with an EH hat, an EH shirt and some EH shoes.

Personally, I think the actual concept is cool. Well known Tatoo artist teams up with fashion designer... I'd get excited about it. And, the first time I walked into a EH store without knowing anything about it, some of it looked interesting, but the sticker shock made me partly laugh, and partly question if I was missing something... i think some (ok, most) of the EH stuff is overdone, but in all credit, it's mostly the people who wear it that give it a bad name. like wearing it all together at once, and being Douche-bag's they are doesn't help. Buying one piece like a t-shirt, or a hat could be a cool accent peice IMO. Lastly, anyone remember the Dior "Stab" shirt with red crystals on it...

no, its for douchebags generally. people who want to seem like they are rockstars while they live in tract housing and spend their day in minimalls of best buy, borders, target, etc. i actually bought a shirt once for the hell of it on sale for like 65% off, about 25 bucks, whenever I did wear it people seemed like they wanted to start fights with me. I've seen girls look really slutty in their dresses though, but they were probably that way to begin with.

This awful, tacky **** is a brilliant PR move and advertising campaign and nothing more. It came overnight and, by virtue of a smart (and $$$) PR machine, became an "it" brand without really doing anything creative. It's now overlicensed and you can find it at TJ Maxx with keychains, clocks, bar sets (glasses and tumblers), and tee shirts with swarovski crystals marked down to $29.

It's HAD its fifteen minutes, 14:45 of which were too much. We're seeing it so much on the streets now only because people are buying it super-cheap at discounters and putting the final knife-stab into its already death-rattled brand image.
