Has anyone had any experience with this Ebay seller? He offers many Isaia sport coats and suits for around $500. Are these quality sport coats, by that I mean not fused but fully canvassed, lined and hand stitched? I am not too familiar with the Isaia brand.

Thanks in advance for your replies.

he sells legit stuff, but Isaia coat for 500 is not that great of a deal, you wait around , you could get cheaper on STP. But this guy's best deal is the 400ish Isaia tux he sells, they are real steals if you could find one in your size

If you run separate searches for Nitro and Isaia, you'll find multiple prior posts that asked these same questions. In short, Isaia is good stuff and Nitro is a good seller (though I have no actual experience buying from him). If you stick to the Gianluca Isaia label (as opposed to the cheaper Gian Luca Napoli label), you'll find only fully canvassed and well-made products. Not a the Kiton level perhaps but perhaps at the quality level of Borrelli or slightly below.

His pages annoy the living daylight out of me, especially the Nitro-meter, it's blocking everything and I can't get rid of it, the links to pictures never work. It's so annoying that it drove away me everytime I enter his page unknowingly even though some of his Isaia suits look pretty decent.

I would put Gianluca Isaia above Ermenegildo Zegna and Canali, but lower than Borrelli, Brioni, Kiton, Attolini etc.

Totally agree. I can't understand how he could think this is clever and an enticement to buy. I can't press back fast enough when I land on one of his auctions, good deal or not.

As discussed in the similar past threads, the Gianluca suits for Paul Stuart are fused, though quite nice. I got one from him a couple of months ago, and couldn't be more pleased for the price.

It's up to you which size you choose in conversion. The Gianluca 52EU is really 41US, not 42. The 54EU is a 42/43. It depends on if you like a slim fit. The armholes are quite high! I can't wear a baggy shirt under this suit for sure.

I found the flat front pants that came with my Gianluca suit to be very full cut in the legs, though the waist, seat, and rise were perfect. The jacket was cut slim.

I got a Isaia tux from Nitr-o and love it. Do a search and you'll see a whole thread on this.

Nitr-o does inflate the actual MSRP for the Isaia suits he sells. He does have the following disclaminer though:

This an approx. MSRP, not the STREET price (what a retailer may sell it for).

Not sure what it means exactly.

Have you seen his listing of Z Zegna shirts and Polo Cashmere Sweaters?

http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQfrppZ50Q...QsassZnitrQ2do

It looks pretty fake to me. Again he inflates the retail price of these items also.

Can you tell us what Isaia model the tux you got was?

Thanks...

I hate his auctions with a passion, so much so, wherever I enter his auctions by mistake, I instinctively hit the back button. No matter how the good deals are I am willing to pass up, I just can't deal with those tacky graphics and the unmentionable Nitr-o-meter.

Grimslade, tag says "Carl sk. sart" on the left inside breast pocket where my suits say "Stewart". It's super 150 fully canvassed (pinch test).

I have suits and sport coats from Isaia from 3 lines: Enrico, Isaia, and Gian Luca from retail (Wayne Edwards in Philly), STP, nitr-o, and Blondy's bay auctions.

Fit for me is perfect. Workmanship and style superior in my book. The Gian Luca sport coat I have from STP is a linen unconstructed and well worth the $200 or so that I got it for.

Tux is outstanding and I had no trouble with nitr-o though from some of the other threads, ymmv.
