Hi styleforum,

I have been long time lurker. Recently, I bought 'Ralph Lauren Purple Label Tailored Fit Polo Shirts' from an ebay seller. $85 isn't really stellar but I thought it was okay.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/221174914517?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649

From the picture, it clearly shows tags attached to the shirts. However, what I have received today is that there is no tag.

I'm no expert analyzing counterfeit. The buttons look real pearl buttons. I own few RLPL/BL shirts.

However, I'm wondering if it is a counterfeit. The seller has few other RLPL Polo Shirts with different color, which makes me suspicious.

What would you think?

Which would make me not suspicious.

I didn't click on your link but did the listing say NWT?

The listing says it is NWT.

The seller responded me that he found a tag from the polo shirt in his office yesterday. That's weird, too. The tag is bonded so that it won't fall without cutting it.

@RedDevil10 Thanks for your input.

His feedback numbers look very trustworthy.

Is the item itself satisfactory? If the answer to that is yes, why the hell would you care about the tag?

Despite all the good words written about the vendor I would return it. It is not as described and the temptation to slip in a few less than honest items remains.

I have bought goodies off the same seller. Nothing fantastic, just odds and sods, and I can't remember anything untoward with him either.

Thanks for all the replies.

He has very good feedback but I decided to return. I've never seen a RLPL Polo Shirt in retail. So, I can't tell if it is a legit or not. What made me to return is that the tag cannot be accidentally found in the office unless it is cut somehow.

Sorry to hear that. I purchase RLPL polos at the Mansion often, they are not rare items. As for the tag, keep in mind that this seller's items often come from the Ralph Lauren factory store at Woodbury (which has currently moved from clothing to shoes and accessories) so it is entirely possible the the little metal prong securing the tag loop was loose to begin with and fell off. I've even had that happen both at Bergdorf and the Mansion.

In any event, I'm sure he will process your return quickly.
