Dont understand why one worries about carbs (the bun) when they are eatting a fatty ass high calorie burger patty. Its just like eatting a triple patty burger with supersized fries and drinking it with a DIET Coke. Really, you think drinking a diet coke really saves you from weight gain when you eat like that?

In the effort of not turning this thread into a dissertation on the process of weight loss, I suggest you look into some basic endocrinology textbooks, such as Williams Textbook of Endocrinology, or a good biochemistry book, such as Lehningers Principles of Biochemistry, which might help you gain an understanding that would correct your approach.

I saw someone doing this yesterday and thought to myself, "This is the dumbest person in America."

Hardees had (has?) this a few years ago for their grilled chicken sandwich. I actually thought it tasted great. Though I don't watch my weight, sometimes I want a burger without the bun, I'd never think about asking for one unless it's explicitly offered though.

I just don't want to ruin the taste of the hamburger with a bun. It has nothing to do with diet. I only eat home cooked burgers or in and out on the west coast or five guys on the east coast.

When I get full, I'll eat the rest of the meat out the burger....can't be wasting good meat.

Most times I throw away the bun. Sometimes I eat only half the bun. Rarely I eat the whole thing.

Can a mod please merge this thread into the "things that are pissing you off: food and drink edition" thread?

    Thanks!

When I eat a hot dog, burrito/soft taco, burger, etc. if I finish all the meat and there's a nubbin' of meatless bun/tortilla left, I just throw it out.

Cutting out the bun will mostly just help cut the calories from it. Might be a good idea, but all this low carb nonsense gets old.

Having said that, I sometimes do it just because I dont really feel like eating bread.

Somebody already mentioned this, but the person may be a celiac. My girlfriend has celiac disease and can't eat anything that contains gluten. If we go out for burgers, she has to get it sans the bun otherwise she'll get pretty sick. The more you know! [IMG]

I'm pretty much with conne on this one. If you want to eat a big slab of beef without a bun, have a steak.
