Earnest Sewn Fultons at Filene's

I stopped by Filene's Basement (akin to Marshall's or TJMaxx) today, and they had a table of Earnest Sewns for $70. I got a pair of Fultons and took them to the fitting room, only to discover in line that the top button, the most important button, was missing. I went back to the table and looked through the other pairs, only to find that all of the Fultons in what I think was the Line Wash color were missing the button. The other colors, however, had all their buttons.

I've been wanting to buy some nicer denim for awhile, and these ESs seemed to be perfect. Is $70 a good deal, and a good enough deal to go get my own top button?

Also...what the hell?

$70 is pretty good for ES. That's what I paid for my Jakimos on STP and today I ordered a pair of Filsons for $55. As for the top button...I think it's kind of a cool button because it's branded and stuff, but at the same time it's covered by my belt 100% of the time so if you can replace it with something functional...

That's ******* weird, but $70 + maybe $10 for a tailor to stamp on a new button is still a good deal for ES.

Take it to the register and point it out. I've gotten %20 off damaged merch at Filenes Basement before. This is, of course, unless it was intentionally removed.

could be intentionally removed - the button says earnest sewn on it.

i'm wearing the fulton right now - line wash, i think (fulton 50, half selvedge stuff at the waist). good stuff. i think i paid 68 bucks for it, might swing by my filene's to see if they've got anything else.

I was just at FB and asked. The button wasn't removed, it was never there. That's why they're at FB in the first place. Hence, no discount

Except for getting $200 jeans for $70. That's a good deal with or without the button for an awesome pair of jeans.

I'd get them just for patching material at that price point, if nothing else.

Other than the half-selvage fultons 53, I saw some grey "greaser" jeans (on the hanger, it looked generically slimfit, like a Levi's 511 or gap morrison fit) and a really big pair of faded Hemingways.
