If possible, would love to see a side by side comparison between an authentic and a repro. Or at least up close pix of the repro to see the details. Thanks.

The Rove Concepts one lookts pretty much exactly like the one on the right. The leather even patinas beautifully. I'll post up pics soon!

Yes, please do post pics. I'll be interested to see some close ups. I'll be waiting impatiently. ;)

one could just do a little networking with architects and score a real one for just over $2K. Seems way easier to do that than to pour all the research into "which counterfeit chair is the most realistic looking".

i don't mean become soul mates. All they usually need is an AIA number and a call to a retailer. H-M's trade discounts can be very deep, just google it.

Two crisp $100 bills for the architect/designer to keep can help the process as well.

Step 1 - Find our where architects are

Step 2 - Go to those places a lot of times

Step 3 - Eventually become someone's acquaintance

Step 4 - Foster the relationship into a friendship

Step 5 - Cautiously ask if the friend can get you a deal on an Eames chair

Step 6 - Bring it up again

Step 7 - Check on how that purchase is going

Step 8 - Get the chair

Step 9 - Never talk to the person again cause he/she hates you because you used them

Yeah that sounds like a worthwhile endevour.
