E. Ward painting

My grandma has this painting that I have always been fond of. Just trying to find more info on it or the artist.

The only thing I know is the artist. E. Ward. Any info would be cool.

The owner of my painting lived in California, but traveled to South America. Does this geographical information coincide with anywhere your grandmother lived or visited?

That painting is part of the "big eyed children" genre which was popular in the '60s and '70s. The most famous artist of that school is Margaret Keane.

One usually puts this kind of art in the kitsch/camp category although I believe Keane's original works are not necessarily that cheap anymore.

We found this painting left in a house we purchased a number of years ago...we too are interested in any information you may have. Clearly the same artists signature.

I'd wager "e. ward" was a fake/pseudonym for any of a number of these factory prints.

- both in those light yellow, tan, tones......

ever find anything? -- i was told, by an art dealer
from whom i bought them both,
who owned an art store, that it was early work
of a famous artist that was done early in his years
to make money for basic living purposes....
