New tie. Was unsure about it, but really glad that I ordered it. First untipped tie directly from Patrizio and I'm enjoying it. Think I'll go with only unlined ties henceforth.

Hi - I am thinking about placing my first order with Patrizio Cappelli and was wondering about the twill silk fabrics. I prefer the matte finish look of madder and wool challis, but he has some very nice patterns in twill silk. Are his twill silks at all 'shiny' or do they have more of a matte finish? Thank you.

He has a lot of twill silk fabrics. I've handled a few, so I can't speak for all fabrics. But to me, none appear shiny. Of course, they're not going to be as matte as madder ties. But they're not as shiny as your usual silk reppe ties.

Can anyone tell me what type of knots these ties tie? For reference, I like ‘substantial’ four in hand knots (like the picture). Appreciate any feedback or if there is a way to customize this option.

Fairly substantial compared to most tie makers (and the knots hold well), never have a problem personally. I’d email Patrizio and tell him you’d like knots like the photo, he can make sure the width of the knot area is where it needs to be.
