1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Received three beauties from Patrizio today. Great turnaround time and he indulged my request for like 8 swatches, some of which were identified by circling photos from this thread. That will yield him another healthy order.

One small nit, uhhh, how do i make sure this doesn't come off as too serious, but still a point, does Patrizio smoke? B/C the smell of the ties suggest they have been suggested to some second hand smoke

I can't answer the question about whether or not Patrizio smokes, but I can say that none of my ties have ever come smelling of cigarettes.

Dry cleaner is pretty risky, isn't it? Just air it outside if you can.

I'd say smoke stank is certainly not desirable, but I'd also recommend avoiding the dry cleaner!

    OK, thanks all.

    Word from Patrizio:

i think that is not cigarette smoke smell, but the smell of the english silk, that sometime is very strong.

They use vegetables colors. No dry cleaning, air is better.

I give him a lot of credit, he responded to my question about possible cigarette smoke in 30 minutes on a Saturday. That blows away almost everyone on customer service and is even more impressive in comparison to his fellow Neopolitans.

... just to add that I have never received anything other than exactly what I ordered and in pristine condition from EGC. Importantly, Patrizio has always responded to any enquiry in a polite and timely fashion, whenever I have asked.

    This coupled with outstanding wares....

+1. I've probably had a dozen different orders, never had an issue.

Few hours outside in the wind and about 80% of the smell is gone, it is really very faint now and requires aggressively smelling the tie with it in your face to detect, which i hope no one ever does to me in real life. To close the loop. I'll be ordering from Patrizio again (and have in the past as well).

It is unfortunate the he had to throw @Cleav 's fellow countrymen under the bus with his explanation.

"the smell of the english silk, that sometime is very strong.
    They use vegetables colors."

I hope this doesn't become an international incident...

I wonder if the package was in a storage room or delivery truck with someone smoking. Seems more likely than at Pat's shop or where he ties were made.
