Is the brown color a very dark or medium shade of brown? It's always hard to tell on computer screen.

I'd say it's closer to medium. I've only ever seen one navy-brown block stripe from Cappelli - it's the same fabric as in this post: https://www.styleforum.net/threads/e-g-cappelli-store-now-live.289105/page-56#post-8161172
