dunhill suits

I've never owned dunhill. What would the retail be of one of these suits OTR. I've looked online and I couldn't get a read on it. Are they fused or canvas? How is the fit? Boxy? Slim? What label do they compare to? Samuelsohn? Canali? Is there another make one could draw on?

I have an oppotunity to purchase one from STP for a deep discount that happens to be exactly what I want. I have to pull the trigger soon, so any feedback would be great.

I've seen a lot of these recently at Off 5th, in the $600 range (some stores have coupons, so as low as $450). Not sure on the fit, but they are canvased, I felt one today.

They're made by Zegna so I would compare them to that.

Ya they're like Zegna main line...

I kinda wish I bought that blazer from Saks once it went to 50% off but they sent all that stuff off to the outlets, or someone bought them, weren't there on Friday when I stopped by, I think the final lowest price was about $280-300 for the blazer.

The one's at off 5th are much nicer than what is on STP from what other people have said here. The one's on STP are made in Japan and have been sent back by several people because they were not as nice as expected.

It used to be that Dunhill was reliable enough that you could purchase a suit sight unseen and expect a quality product, but unfortunately it's hit or miss now. I bought a suit off STP a few months ago (one of the made in Japan ones) with the assumption that it would be like some of the high-quality, fully canvassed Dunhill suits I had seen in Saks around that time, but ended up sorely disappointed. The suit's fabric had a very cheap feel, and the jacket was fused, so I returned it.

If you're going to buy one online, at least STP is a good source because of their flexible return policy.

The Off 5th had some very interesting lighter color and weight ones today in Cabazon. Oh, and there was a pair of Tramezzas for $229 for anyone who wears a size 13

. And if you are a AAA member, show your card at the info booth at the mall and there is a coupon book that has one good for 25% off of one item at Saks. So if you are the right size, you can sorta pick up a Zegna for about $450. There were also a couple of beautiful Cornelianis that were selling there for $800, less $200, but were heavier, and all but one had pleated pants, which I refuse to wear because they make me look fat!

lol how often do you go to cabazon? Dude that's like 100 mi from LA... I sometimes go there when I'm working out of the apt I keep in Pomona because it's not that bad.

Family visiting PS, who wanted to go to the outlets, agreed to meet them. But, in the last two times I've been, I've always left with an underpriced pair of shoes, lol.

Ah I see, yeah it's a bit out of the way if you're not either going to the casino or to PS. I played a poker tournament there a few weeks ago that was quite profitable.

Just tell me you didn't blow it all at the outlets on the way back to OC

. I've been in the Pomona/Claremont area before. Nice little towns (and if you ever stop keeping the apt, but need to stay from time to time, the Sheraton at the Fairplex is great when there isnt' the fair or some other weird convention there).

Pomona is kinda sketchy but Claremont is quite nice. My place is certainly not the nicest but it serves its purpose as I don't like driving 60 mi in the morning for meetings at the client I'm working with there and I spend a couple days a week up there, made sense just to rent a place.

I didn't spend it all at the outlets at least not at that time, haha, but I did pay a visit to Saks a few days later

I didn't spend it all at the outlets at least not at that time, haha, but I did pay a visit to Saks a few days later

I only know the parts of Pomona that are around the Fairplex and bordering on Claremont. I also sort of like the little "downtown" area of LaVerne that has the restaurants, and I like that Italian place there (even though it only got a B from the health inspector). However, I must say that Wolfs has better pre-prepared fish than any Whole Foods ever has, and some of the other restaurants in the Claremont area are good too. BTW, ever gone into that men's store that is in Claremont, on Harvard or Yale? I've driven by it, but never gone in.

I haven't but I'll have to check it out. My client is pretty close to there so I often go to the Village for lunch. That is actually a pretty nice area.

Just stay away from downtown Pomona proper, around the city hall and such. I went there to take care of a registration issue and it wasn't a nice area despite the obvious police presence.
