I always pronounce it "TOO BALLER," but I recognize that may be unique to me.

I say All-Den. I knew someone with Alden as a first name and that's what we called him.

The Japanese say オールデン (Oh-ru-den) so I'm inclined to think the "All-den" pronunciation is correct. Though the Japanese really sounds closer to "Olden" than anything else.

And why would you use Japanese pronunciation as a guide?

And why would you use Japanese pronunciation as a guide?
Because they always transliterate certain pronunciations a specific way. If it were "Al-den", they'd say アルデン (Ah-ru-den).

Always pronounced it Al-den. But that does not mean that I am right. Well I guess just like somebody said, it all depends on the region, place and etc.

So what ever you pronounce it if you can understand each other, the your purpose is fulfilled that is the most important I guess.[IMG]
