thanks posting the link d_d, btw my gf tried on the Iron Heart girl jeans also, she actually liked that cut more, but I was uneasy with the bootcut and non-selvage at that kindda price (I know I know, but geisha's got PINK and silver selvage, how cool is that!!)... The Geisha's are more special IMO so we got them...

to the original poster: why don't you get a pair of dry jeans yourself first??

working on some slim jim japans and levi's 514 raw right now.[IMG]

My GF has a pair of denimbird bootcuts and she likes them a lot. She isn't really into the whole skinny jean thing, so she likes to stick to more of a straight leg/boot cut type of jean. She also has a pair of PDC GTO's (or whatever the girl version is called) in the 1-year wash. The problem with the nudies/APC is the rise. If she is used to wearing really low rise jeans they might look/feel a little funny to her.
my girlfriend is the same. she doesn't like straight leg/slim hit but likes bootcut/flare. this makes it harder to find raw denim in those because all i can find are slim-fitted dry jeans. even gap only has slim in their's. where did you get those denimbird bootcuts and is the PDC GTO's true raw in terms of fading and creases? (i'm still kinda clueless on the difference between rinsed and raw)

Are there any jeans similar to the Geishas but in a longer inseam? I showed that blog post to a friend and she loved them, but she's 6' tall and needs a 35-36 inseam post wash, which is, well, uncommon.

The GAP skinny raws fit my girlfriend really well. Probably her best fitting jeans, period.

thing is my girlfriend is really curvy and has a big booty, thus skinny jeans is out of the question.

I'm pretty sure she's looking for straight leg or slight bootcut. That rules APC except for the Rescues, and APC's inseam shrinkage means none of that would work anyway. Shame the Geishas don't come in a wider range of sizes.

A salesgirl in Dutil (Vancouver) who seemed knowledgeable offered her opinion that raw denim doesn't work on a body with curves. In specific she said that the APC "unisex" jeans aren't, because the cut is wrong. I think she also said that they way they stretch won't keep them tight enough in the right places. She might have also said something about how the fading happens, but I wasn't taking notes. [IMG] Is it possible that only Japanese girls wear raw denim because Japanese girls have boy-shaped bodies?

Indeed it sounds pretty retarded. The point of raw denim is that it fades differently for different cuts and different body shapes... I don't understand the 'OH MY GOD MY HONEYCOMBS ARE TOO FLAT/TOO BIG' mentality.

Getting my girlfriend a pair of Nudie SSKs in a couple of weeks... she's a 28 so going with 26 waist methinks.

I dont see how a unisex cut could ever flatter a girl, raw or not.

Define flatter. If you want a naked-in-different-colors fit, then obviously not. Personally, I find that shit incredibly boring. But, hey, some people love Sevens.

You must not have seen enough Japanese girls, Just because they dont have a big fat ass or huge tits doesnt mean they have boy bodies. Please do refrain from making such a hugely stupid statement in the future and take a look at the "Nantuket Red is a Lucky Bastard" thread.

Whoa, ratboy, please don't take my remark as criticism: we all know how wonderful your current girlfriend is and I'm sure Nantuket Red's girlfriend is swell too. Ancedotals aside, Japanese women have (statistically) significantly shorter hip axis lengths, which is believed to be one of the reasons why they experience less hip fractures: http://scholar.google.com/scholar?q=...axis+length%22 The body fat distribution is also completely different, which is why the BMI ranges are different for Asians than everyone else.

I'm not disagreeing on any particular point, but "boy-shaped" is a terribly stupid way of expressing it.

And the salesgirl at that store sounds like a complete imbecile.

I think it gets the point across better than "short hip-axis length and agynoidal fat distribution". I didn't intend to offend anyone - this forum isn't exactly a bastion of political correctness.

As far as the members of this forum can tell, most women are not wearing raw denim. I think the opinion of a woman who sells jeans to women is not to be dismissed. There isn't enough evidence available to prove her wrong. [IMG]
