SO...Denis made me an amazing vegetable dyed shearling biker jacket. He is an amazing tailor with many celebrity and cool dude clients. Made in italy to my measurements with vintage vegetable dyed shearling.. Google him.. I received it 3 or 4 months after, then wore it a couple of times in LA...Brought it to a dry cleaner in malibu for a spot, and they ruined it. Shrunk it 2 sizes, dyed it dark etc. I am suing them but they have some phony report from the dry cleaning association that its not discoloured or shrunken. Lol its ruined. Havent gone to court yet, court date is in a couple of weeks.. Im suing for 9.2k....cost of jacket before tax..has anyone ever won against one of these clowns? Thanks...

They shrank a leather jacket? How would you even do that? Jeeze.

I've never sued a dry cleaner, but give it a try. Find a lawyer who will do a free consult. If you have before photos, that'll help. Keep your receipts and every other piece of evidence you can pull together. Good luck.

Then dramatically put on the too-small jacket in court.
Like the OJ glove...

I’m sorry for what happened, but personally I would never take a leather jacket to a normal dry cleaner. That’s a job for a leather specialist, and only after trying non-invasive home remedies like an overnight application of baking soda or talcum powder to absorb the stain.

If the cleaner is unwilling to replace the jacket, you might investigate small claims court, for which you don’t need a lawyer. They have monetary limits; I’m guessing 10k in a Malibu court is within the limit.

Well…sooner or later you need to take tailored clothing to the dry cleaner (albeit as infrequently as possible). I don’t take my shirts to the cleaner; if they don’t rip them they smash the MOP buttons in their hydraulic press—and good luck telling them the shirt cost 200 euros. Knitwear I wash by hand in the bidet…

thats right, thats why im avoiding buying jackets at the moment. i have a few unlined cotton/ linen ones that can go in the wash

in fact if i see an item is dry clean only, i never buy it. whereas i know a few people who do the opposite. Quite a few top end brands play on this too, like Berluti

10 grand for a jacket. Wow.
Denis is the balls. Made it with deadstock veg dyed shearling at the lp factory that does their samples. He is the best. Had one made for the wife as well.
