Drugs in drinking water in the US

Chicago, for example, found a cholesterol medication and a nicotine derivative. Many cities found the anti-convulsant carbamazepine. Officials in one of those communities, Colorado Springs, say they detected five pharmaceuticals in all, including a tranquilizer and a hormone.
What do you think about this? Is anyone going to run out and by a water filter? Write letters to your representatives? Drink more water to get as many free pharmaceuticals as possible?

Did you skip over the parts per trillion sentence? A water filter's not going to do anything for you and you're going to be just fine.

I assume you are not referring to me as I did not state what I was going to do. I'm merely asking questions to get a general feel for how people respond to this kind of news.

Is this why my nephew has three arms? I guess he isn't a Hindu deity.

My 86 year old grandmother refuses to drink tap water unless it's boiled.

Fluoride is actually not filtered out through those Pur or Brita systems.

FWIW, I'll take my chances with Chicago water, which is some of the cleanest in the country for a city, and not worry too much.

Fluoridation is a Communist conspiracy to sap and impurify all of our precious bodily fluids, Mandrake.
