What company makes the best ones? I keep going between Tod's and Car Shoe. Both are made in Italy. Let me know what you guys think.

I think the ones with the best sole are made by Harry's of London. They have some dealers in the US.

No. Get some with a bit more substantial sole than Tods. I've got some in red by Roberto Durville and some in black by Trask. They won't survive a hike to Kilimanjaro but for the diner on a summer Sunday or strolling around in Cozumel or wherever they look great with linen trousers. More dressed than trainers, less clunky and nerdy than heeled loafers.

i wore these drivers from J&M just about every day for work since March/April. without a doubt the most comfortable sockless shoe i've ever worn. i felt really weird putting on socks today for work for the first time in about 6 months.

I used to love driving shoes, now I hate them and think they're a total fucking waste. They basically go to shit in a season. One, frigging, season. Want a fun, sexy shoe to wear with jeans and khakis? Sloop:

here we go again.............there is no "best" anything. There are many factors to consider, mainly price.

Personally, from a cost standpoint, JCrew and Cole Haan are the "best" drivers. I routinely get them on sale for about $50-65 every year.

You should rephrase your question to "Which drivers would you choose beteen Tod's and Car Shoe?"

+1 - I've been rotating about 6 pair of Belgians all Summer and they are amazingly versataile, cozy, chic bastards. Suedes are especially rich looking. I've even subjected a couple of pair to the painting studio -

I would like to withdraw my comment in response to those tassel loafers, but then apply it to those Belgians.

How do you feel about spending money on non-essential goods during the Covid-19 crisis?

  • I don't want to spend money at a time of economic uncertainty, even if I could afford it.

  • I feel compelled to spend to help small businesses that are struggling.

  • I reduced my budget for non-essential goods and I'm not spending at the moment.

  • Not much has changed for me and I'm still buying stuff I can't afford.
