There are a bunch of sales coming up in the Boston area with something for everyone. I was talking to Gary Drinkwater, and his sale is starting on the 12th (of January,) 20-40% off pretty much everything. He has lots of classic American stuff, as well as really innovative casual pieces by Engineered Garments which remind me of CP Company in the use of cool fabrics and interesting details on basic, workwear inspired pieces; and the Mackenzie Tribe Wool/Alpaca sportsjackets in classic patterns are incredibly soft and comfortable, and will be real bargains (the retail is even pretty reasonable), not to mention a little off the beaten track from the typical Avon Celli, Malo, etc...

Stel on Newbury Street will be starting their sale on Saturday. 40% off everything, pretty much, including Fake London Genius (they have a great coat,) Coast shirts, and a terrific Yoko Devereaux black/charcoal slim, hooded cashmere sportcoat that I hope someone with buy quickly to take me out of my misery, since I really want it, but can't afford it.

So, there you are. Deals for both the traditionalists and the hepcats on the forum. See, one of my New Year's resolution was to espouse a kinder, gentler Styleforum.

Happy New Years All.

I feel like a lot of us style forumers will be taking advantage of the upcoming sales around Boston (I'm thinking specifically of Louis starting on Saturday, but these as well). It's times like these I wish we had gone through with the SF tie or pocket square; I'd be very curious to know who I'm shopping with.

How about a temp. SF printed paper "button", quite small, discretely taped to lapel or pocket when shopping? Â I'm not kidding, something so small it would only be noticable to those looking for it. The color and font of the logo are distinct enough that even at an inch or so, I bet it'd be enough. (I'd do a mock-up but I'm no good at photoshop, or whatever. Anyone?) I too, might drop by Louis saturday, and think it would be amusing to attach some faces to some aliases. Assuming you're not a Small, that is.

I belong to ROGUE, it is a motorcycle forum for Honda RC-51's and we have a sticker for our bikes and it is cool to see someone you have talked to or read online in the flesh. I think we should have some sort of identifier, I too will be at Louis on Sat. I'll have on the jeans, powder blue cashmere polo sweater, black cashmere patch pocketed jacket and black gucci sneakers with 2 cream stripes.Introduce yourself if you see me....
