Drinks for fall?

I'm looking for drinks that would suit a fall cocktail party and just things to make when friends come over. There are plenty of summer cocktails and mixed drinks, but I can't really think of many appropriate things for fall except for whiskey based drinks that not many people may be fond of (except myself). So what are some good, sometimes fruity mixed drinks I can make?

Are there any decent cold drinks? Hot drinks are a bit of a pain ********** to make constantly for a significant number of people. I've got Apple Martinis on the list as well.

Well, you could try apple brandy, or hard cider. Neither are mixed, but at least feel like fall.

Neither cold nor fruity but a favorite nonetheless:

Hot Chocolate,
Kahlua
Peppermint schnapps,
Whipped Cream

Proportions will vary according to taste. For the colder evenings.

The Rob Roy (or of course a Manhattan or Brandy Manhattan).

I like mine:

3 to 1 Scotch to Sweet Vermouth with a dash of bitters. Serve in a beautiful Waterford crystal cocktail glass. Some garnish with a cherry and I will accept that at a restaurant. But I *never* do it myself.

Related, but cold, is the "girl scout cookie" (as I first heard it called). Adjust ratios to your liking.

3 parts vodka
1 part clear creme de menthe
1 part clear creme de cacao

Stir if you want it to remain clear. I shake it for a great mandlebrot-looking effect on the surface. Serve in a cocktail glass.

My favorite, is a Big Apple. Heat Apple Cider with cinnamon sticks, and rum to taste.

Stingers are great for after dinner on a cold night.
