Drinking water with meals

I rarely drink anything that isn't water OR alcohol. Now, as I read somewhere in the bodybuilding.com forums, you should drink water at least half an hour before meal and not until half an hour after meal, and not with the meal. The logic behind is that the water doesn't mix well with your gastric acids which makes it more difficult to digest the meal and if you drink plenty of water throughout the day, you should be fine.

What's your take on this, as I usually drink at least 500ml of water with my meals

Jeez, so does this mean I don't digest my water properly?

If anything, all it means is that your stomach will digest the food a bit slower making you remain full for longer.

I do agree with drinking water before dinner though - a lot of people over eat because they mistake thirst for hunger.

This is definitely true.

Plus, the normal person definitely does not drink enough water. I gotta pick that back up myself.

I mean, you drink half an hour before you eat, then eat, then half an hour after the meal and nothing with the meal...

Bodybuilding must really suck... But I agree wine is better than water at meals.

I haven't heard "yoked" used in a long time.

This makes me wonder about things like pasta. Should we eat dried pasta raw? I mean, it's small and hard then you boil it, and it grows and gets soft. Must have soaked up some water, right? Will this water mean I can't digest my pasta right?

Bro science: cooked pasta can't be digested.
