Hello, I'm posting this because I think DVN has done a great job with this season, quite different from all his previous collections, leave spring 2009. Here's what men.style.com had to say.
Backstage, proud pop Dries Van Noten was flashing photos of his new pup, but it was finance rather than fatherhood that was making him think about safety nets. "We have to be more careful now," he said, "but it's interesting to work with restrictions. It makes us more creative." So the new collection's emphasis on the sartorial only seemed like playing it safe. Appropriately traditional English wovens such as herringbone, bird's-eye, and twill were combined with the latest in fabric technology. Perversely, the tech fabrics looked more traditional than the old stuff, but that fit with Van Noten's proven knack for twisting past, present, and future together; the belted suits, the big lapels, the bird's-eye blouson and pants that looked a little like an airman's uniform all had a feel for the forties. Then there was a jacquard peacoat, a navy coat with an oily sheen, and a monochrome group (all green, all gunmetal, all burgundy) that brought things smartly up to date. Van Noten insisted the key to the collection was the juxtaposition of huge military bag and small crocodile pochette carried by the first model. Radically different notions of masculinity, with some risk involved—sounds like a broad definition of the Van Noten ethos.
Fairly different to his previous seasons, this is more sensible DVN. I think he did well in modernizing the classic designs of the 40's, with interesting materials and a nice clean military-esque colour palette. This is the entire collection, there will be detail shots below.

I've liked Dries for a long time, but never loved his stuff. Nevertheless, this collection is stellar and really impressed me. It seems like there is a coat in here for just about everybody.

You should carry his stuff. I'd shop at Farinelli's if you did.

It would be much better without the mustard on mustards and oatmeals on oatmeals. Maybe it's just the way the pieces are paired -- the weave has to be different enough if it's going to be color on color. The forest green leather jacket and sweater in particular stand out so much from the rest in a good way because of it. I generally like it, but he's done much better stuff in the past. I don't think I'll ever be a fan of contrast collars simply because I can't wear them, but they are done well here by adding a bit of flair to an otherwise solid plum outfit.

The mustard/cream herringbone scarf is very nice and those are some of the best croc bluchers and monkstraps I've seen in a while and perhaps ever.

I see what you're saying about the colors, but damn do I love those contrast colors. Why can't you wear them why? They're a lot of fun, they make a number of these outfits.

Decadent looking, and some nice proportions, silhouettes, ideas. Very nice line.

And if you like trenchcoats, there's many coats for you!

The texture of all the fabrics is incredible. I might see if I can find one of aforementioned coats this fall depending on solvency.

I have broad shoulders so turtlenecks and contrast collars always look off on me. People with builds like yours or SoCal's can pull them off extremely well, but I've tried and I just can't do it. The only contrast collar I own at the moment is a Pringle OCBD and I've yet to wear it once.

Yes, the herringbones and twills in particular are amazing. It's really a great way to make tone on tone work.

Somehow this is very preppy without being at all "preppy".
