Dressing for a academy visit

Hello,
This friday, my school resource officer is taking four seniors to the Maine Crim. Justice acdy that will count as a college visit. I happen to be one of the four chosen! I was wondering what would be appropriate to wear to this academy. I was thinking A nice dress shirt, and black or khaki trousers flat front. Or should I be more formal and wear a tie? Also, what colors would be good to wear? I was thinking black or blue, the colors of Maines finest!

I used to be a guest instructor at the Vermont Police Academy. The recruits will likely all be in uniform and most of the instructors you see will likely be wearing at least ties, probably sport coats or suits as well. I doubt that your acceptance will depend on proper dress, but it won't hurt to dress well, with at least a tie. It will show you take it seriously.
