Dressier coat and boots for a short guy

I am 5 feet 5 inches, kids size 14/foot size 4-4.5, which is pretty short/small for a dude, but I still find it disturbing that I can't find nice masculine looking top coats, pea coats or chelsea boots (with more pointy toes rather than round) that don't look childish. It seems as impossible as finding slim fit clothes in kids sizes. My little sister is also my size and she has no problems finding well fitting clothes in her size. Does anybody have suggestions where to find any of these items in my size?

It seems like the clothing industry just hates short men. Every time I go shopping I find myself at the kids department.

I'm 5 foot 6 1/2 and I fit a 38s pea coat well. It's not impossible to find correct sizes and shorter lengths in outerwear--it's certainly not as hard as finding size 4 shoes. Check out the blog The Modest Man for tips and links, and if you have a decent (or indecent) budget you might start with Peter Manning for online shopping.

Try Ebay. Some less popular sizes appear on there from time to time. I am a 40 short and struggle as everything in stores is 40 reg. Take care,
