So ya wanna step outside? Any time, mah man, any time. But first, you need to hear my perspective. I respect your writing greatly. Concise, educated, and enjoyable to read. Only problem is your name and your avatar - I have to cover the left side of the screen to read you. And this is why: (Oh, no, Kabbaz is gonna to wax on interminably ...) My 'new client' literature states, "I can create originals (my preference), copy from your old favorites, or work with photos and clippings". Let me emphasize: "I can create originals (my preference)". In the hierarchy of career long requests I have received, by far and away the #1 (about 3000 times) is that damn HRH DOW collar. To the point where my standard answer is, "Duke? Duke who?". And what, you are probably wondering, is the all-time #2 request? You guessed it: "Can you make me the shirts you made for Michael Douglas in Wall Street? Just how many times do you think one man can turn his entire brain 90° without becoming permanently skewed? The answer is: "Fewer than the 2-3,000 times I've had to accomodate that request. Now I've never been sure if your membername refers to that, but it's darn close enough for me. And that avatar??? For sure it is either left hand over the screen or blood pressure a'rising. Besides, you gotta admit, the caption was kinda cute.

Goodness, I had no idea that I inadvertently chose a screen name and avatar of two men who have caused you so much grief in the past. I'll join Manton in ordering some shirts that combine both styles. I have to confess, though, that I don't mind the DOW collar. I don't know if I'd order one but I could live with it. The contrast cuff/collar shirts, however, aren't me.

How wonderful that you mention WALL STREET, Mr. Kabbaz, because -- after all these years -- it's those beautiful shirts that are, for me, the most memorable part of the movie (MD's amazing performance notwithstanding). Any chance you could share with us your experience in working on that film? JV

Didn't work on the film. Worked on the man. He was dignified, courteous, respectful, very interested in the process, and willing to devote the necessary time to get it right. Kabbaz mantra: Never work on films. (The only "credit" I wish is the one my bank records when I make a deposit.) Never work for 7th Avenue. (Last time cost me 300 large - Thanks A.J.) Avoid celebs at all cost. (Except the 6.5 of them who actually pay their bills.)
