Hi everyone,
Tomorrow I am signing an employment agreement for a banking job. That's the only thing I'm going to do. How do I dress? Very dressed up? Dressed but casual? Casual (Don't think so)?

Last time I was there (job interview) I notice that the guy I'm going to meet tomorrow wore the complete thing (suit, dress shoes, shirt and tie).

I had always understood that you should be as dressed up as you can, but don't overdress your (potential) employer for interviews. I would follow the same rule and since you've already had the interview, you know the par to hit.

I'd wear slacks, a shirt, and a sport coat sans tie. That way, you are well put together without looking over the top.

Either:

  • Follow the dress code that will apply when you take up the appointment or

  • Wear a suit but does so more informally - coloured shirt etc as you might on a working day when meeting anyone of note

wear jeans and a dirty t shirt so you appear submissive and unassuming so as not to threaten the local inhabitants...

then on fist day of work arrive in bespoke DB prince of wales check suit with cut away collar shirt and impeccable tie so as to scare the living shit out of the locals and assert your place as king of the workforce.
