Dressed down with a pea coat

I asked the lady tonight if what she thought about me with a pea coat. She said that it wouldn't work for me because I'm usually dressed down.

Can't you pull one off with jeans/sweater, button down, or henly?

casually is the only way to wear a pea coat, given that it is a military garment its kind of hard to really dress it up even if you wanted to. imo it goes perfectly with jeans and a t-shirt. ever seen boondock saints?
