Sigh, and I am supposed to be working.

You can relax. I've been doing the heavy lifting for you anyway.

BTW, the watered silk buttonhole cheered me up today.

The cigarillos, the napkins, the Ambrosi trou...I don't know. Something is amiss. I miss the old Titssy.

Serious answer (!). Where did you go to high school, Foo? Considering we're around the same age I think if you rock a sport jacket, BB custom button down, casual pants (do you own chinos?) and a pair of the one shoe you're good. I honestly think you should just go with the whole Foo rig (Today Show look). It's who you are as an adult and I'm sure it qualifies as "smart casual". I'm sure there will be some sport jackets and suits since people want to impress and look as if they have achieved something and what better way to say I've made it than looking like a real life professional adult.

You are doing good work ... loved this gem today from your blog:

"Hey Will. Matt here. How many flannel suits do I need if I plan to wear nothing else all winter?"

... which was in response to ...

I'm seriously contemplating an all-flannel fall/winter suit and trouser wardrobe. Boldly boring is best.

I went to high school in Rockville, Maryland. The reunion is going to be at a nice bar in D.C. (Dupont Circle). I'm going to wear what I wear, but I think "smart casual" suggests jeans over trousers. I will be shocked if more than a handful of other guys wear jackets--and of those, I guarantee no one will be wearing them un-ironically.

I think smart casual infers the opposite, trousers over jeans.

Wear an ascot and monocle. C'mon you have your own blog, people expect more from you.

Surely school uniform is more appropriate and classed as smart casual ???

Wearing Girls school uniform will get the party going quicker too !!

Are we going to see a thread titled "I should never have gone to my high school reunion" ?

Well, let's put it this way, the new consensus on the reunion's Facebook page is that "smart casual" means "trendy and age-appropriate for a twenty-something" and "no need to look fussy." I'm thinking there will be lots of denim and untucked striped shirts.

Have you friended that Facebook page with your Esquire photos as a scathing retort?
