I'm trying to figure out the right shoe for what appears to be an oddly shaped foot. I've gone to two reputable shoe stores where I live (at least they carry Alden, AE, Magnanni, ...) and I'm measured at a 12C (actually 11.5C). However, when I try on 12C's, 12D's and even a 12E it's a no go but then when I go up to a 13D my foot fits in without a problem except a lot of space at the end of the shoe. My foot seems to get hung up in the toe box. Are there shoes with wider toe boxes that don't look too garish? Thanks in advance!

Es have wide versions. Space at the front of the shoe isn't all bad. I have really wide feet so it's difficult to get shoes that fit perfect.

you haven't even determined what you measure at, decide whether it is 12 or 11.5C .

Measure the width, C, and then measure the overall length and the length from heel to ball and go with the longest of those two measurements.

if you measure a 12c why would you need to find wide toe boxes?
