As we welcome in 2009, I'm interested to know what forum members think about dress shirts with white collars.

Yay? Nay?

As with anything, it can look great as long as it's done right.

I will be wearing a Gekko suit this New Years eve actually.

Do you mean white shirts with white collars or any color shirt with white collar?

I have some but wear them rarely. I find them to be fine as long as the cuffs are french and white aswell. To often I have seen white collars without the cuffs and that looks just strange.

I've got a few and I really like them. They're not for everyone, and I'm sure some people feel I look ridiculous, but as a small part of my shirt collection, they're a good addition.

I voted no. Not a fan of the look on myself even though I do own a very light blue shirt with contrasting white collar. I don't wear it often.

I've something very similar, and it is french cuffed. I usually pair it with a nice sweater and a jacket on top.

That way, only the collars and a little of the cuffs are showing. I've found that it creates a very interesting effect, and I've rather grown to like the look.

I love them. But like all things, they're not for everybody.

I prefer them with white french cuffs but I don't have a problem with just the collar being white if I like the rest of the shirt.

I have and wear four of them (with white collar and white french cuffs).
