I'm going to be a summer associate at a law firm this summer, and I'm starting to think about some necessary additions to my wardrobe. I did this last summer, and survived on about 4 Brooks Brothers slim fit shirts, which I found to be passable. I now need to replace most of them and add a few, and I'm wondering if BB is the best way to go for some decent dress shirts on a budget. I'm looking to buy 6-8 versatile shirts.

If you're a Costco member and don't mind wearing a button-down, their Kirkland dress shirts are excellent buys at $15. I must have about 30 of them!

CT is a good choice. Right now there are some good deals to be had.

Lands end often has shirts on heavy discount. Take a look - I routinely get shirts from them at $15-$20 shipped.

Try Paul Fredrick trim-fit shirts. They start at $19.99. Not bad and good workhorse shirts.

+1 on TM Lewin. I like their slim fit shirts although they are darted. If you go CT, just make sure you use their UK website if you are stateside. The exchange rate is good and they'll deduct VAT which more than makes up for shipping.

You've got some time before the starting date. I'd order a MTM shirt from Jantzen so that you can start perfecting your pattern. Their turnaround time has been really good lately, and it's likely you could perfect your pattern in time to get a batch delivery before your start date.
