generally speaking, are whole and half sizes same everywhere except the neck? eg a 15 and a 15.5 of the same shirt are the same in chest/sleeve length/shirt length, just different in neck.

Generally speaking, get measurements/try on for fit. Next.

Usually not. It depends on the manufacturer, but most manufacturers change the body measurements with each collar size to the half inch. I've heard of some that change it with each whole size, but it is not as common and I do not know who does this.

neck size correlates to body size
examples could be.....

15" neck= 38" chest, yoke 18.25 sleeve 33.5
15.5 neck= 40 chest, yoke 18.5 sleeve 34

yes, as neck size goes up, so does the body.

Ive been measured at 3 tailors now that tell me I'm a 15 1/2 " Neck for dress shirts and even 2 sales associates at century 21 and brooks brothers. Now I tried the 15 1/2" shirts and they have a gap about 1 1/2 fingers and Ive tried 15" shirts and they have 7/8 to 1 whole finger. Which is the correct sizing of wearing a shirt to not look anti SF?

Thank you

1.5 fingers sounds good. Mine are closer to 2 in between. I don't think I'd be comfortable in something less than at least 1.5 fingers.

collars have at least 1/2" shrinkage allowence built in. do you have this room at the side or the front.
put your fingers in the front.
also SA at many stores have no clue as how to measure a collar or the collar on a shirt.
