Ok guys, I am all set to go to my friends wedding next weekend. I have been told I am going to be sitting at a table with some lovely ladies as well. I just want to make sure I am looking my best. So out of the two options below, I would appreciate any advise on which look I should go for. Option 1 http://www.sid.philmcfly.com/Suit 1.jpg or Option 2 http://www.sid.philmcfly.com/Suit 2.jpg Thanks for all the style advise guys!

I'd go with option 1 (white w/ blue check). I'd prefer a wider collar spread, though, so that the points hide behind your jacket lapels--the favored look here on SF. I'm not a huge fan of that tie; I think a burgundy grenadine would look great with that shirt/suit. But whatever tie you choose, at least give it a nice dimple. :)

Where can I get a reasonably priced burgundy grenadine tie?

What is reasonably priced? How much do you want to spend?

Grenadine ties are going to be fairly pricey because of the construction process. At $75, Kent Wang's grenadines are very reasonably priced, and I think most here would agree. But I understand not everyone wants to drop $75+ for a tie, which is why I also suggested The Tie Bar. They might not get much praise here on SF, but for 15 bucks each, I'm a huge fan of their textured solids, wools, and knits. From more than a few feet away, that solid burgundy from The Tie Bar that I linked to above would look just as good as any grenadine. Best part about The Tie Bar ties is that since they are so cheap, you don't have to worry about ruining them with food or drink (or other activities :smarmy:) at a wedding or such.

I actually like the option 1 shirt and tie, but agree that the collar would ideally be spread more...though I suspect few outside of SF will immediately notice.

Neither.

Wear a white shirt. I will not justify it. Just take my word for it, that white shirt could be your best bet.

As for tie: bold red, maroon, burgundy, or mauve solid or small pattern depending on how much contrast you desire. I am more of a burgundy or mauve tie on white shirt man myself when stalking the fairer sex. With your skin tone, you could rock either a bright red or maroon tie very well and tone down the contrast, if desired with a PALE blue shirt.

If not white, very pale pink with the burgundy or mauve tie with small to very small pattern.

If you really want to rock the ladies, pale pink shirt with a deep purple [not garish] tie of very small pattern or better still: self or lighter purple on purple pattern.

You can thank me later.
