Can someone recommend a good dressier sandal (i.e., not Teva or Birkenstock) to wear with khakis or linen pants?

You can get more expensive sandals from Hermes, Ferragamo, Gucci, etc., but will they really be more "dressy" than a pair of leather Birkis, such as Arizonas or Milanos? Probably not, in all honesty. (Tevas, or at least the cloth/webbing/plastic ones I've seen, I consider a definite step down.)

The sandals I bought this season were actually by Prada oddly enough. What can I say? I liked 'em, they were well made for the money (leather obviously not Hermes quality), they were more comfortable than the better Hermes, and there is no label-whore red stripe is in evidence on them. But I don't wear them with any pretentions to dressiness.

If you want a casual shoe that's dressy, look to a bit loafer (Gucci, Ferragamo) or driving loafer (Tod's), not sandals.

Peace,

JG
