Dress boot season?

I've been wanting a pair of dress boots, specifically the Dalton's from Allen Edmonds. My girlfriend is telling me that you only wear them during fall and winter. I live in Miami and the only season I have is hot and hotter. Is it appropriate if I wear them during the Spring and Summer time?

Listen to your girlfriend. Also, the Daltons aren't really what I would call "dress boots". Dress boot is like this:

Punch cap toe instead of wingtip, balmoral lacing instead of blucher.

I would agree that fall and winter are more boot appropriate.

Having said that, I also love in Florida and own a decent amount of boots. I don't hesitate to use them on our cooler days.
