1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

    There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    I'm 350 pounds poorer due to this thread. Sometimes SF is bad for you.

    I'm re-building the wardrobe this year so if I've got it right, Michael Hill's advice to start is;

    A spread of five ties, being;
    • a real ancient madder;
    • a navy blue grenadine;
    • a wool challis in burgundy or bottle green, perhaps with a dark color motif;
    • a repp tie, fairly regimental-based in color;
    • and a silk knit.

    I'm off ! [IMG]

    I'm very tempted, but just as I'm about to purchase some, I can't help but think that even though they are on sale, they are still asking GBP 40 plus shipping for a pocket square...

    The unicorn squares are amazingly versatile. You wouldn't think it, but they are. I have one in the green colourway and it seems to go with almost anything in earthy tones.

    Not sure I'll get anything in the sale myself; I kind of like the navy/burgundy cashmere stripe and the wool challis navy dot but I really have enough ties already

    SF is bad on the wallet but great on your wardrobe.

    I really want a couple of shantungs but they are all 7cm. If they were 8cm, I would have kopped, I think. Just wish the prices were a little better. $115 plus shipping to the US isn't that great of a sale for a tie I wish were slightly wider.

    Pay an extra $35 and get EXACTLY what you want from Will at A Suitable Wardrobe.

    You also avoid the lousy customer service of Drake's and the problematic British courie
    r service

    Same here. I kopped a square but removed the ties at the last second. They're at an awkward size for me, too wide for my skinny-lapeled stuff but not as wide as I like for my more conservative coats. Shame, because there were some nice patterns in the sale.

    Is this the first time that you've used the term, "kopped?"

    Foo had assumed I was an old dude. I told him I just dress like that for kicks.

    The mad steeze, I got it.

    He won't be happy with you until you're in a low gorge 4x1 and fingerless gloves.

    I'm still bewildered by the fingerless gloves. I think Foo needs to try out to be a Bond villain.
