Double vents?

Any advice on having my tailor add double vents to a non-vented suit? Is it fairly easy to do or nearly impossible on a non-vented coat like this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws....MEWN:IT ?

I think it's impossible. You don't have enough extra fabric for the two sides to overlap.

Impossible, unfortunately.

Side vents need more fabric than no vents - the sides overlap with the back - so you're pretty much out of luck.

I was afraid this would be the case. Oh well... I guess my search for the ultimate suit will have to continue.

Please. Don't jump to conclusions. Unless you are unusually broad in the beam, no vents is a classic look you may want to adopt. (After all, Cary Grant and Adolphe Menjou were hardly chopped liver. . . .)

Agree with Mike (good to hear from him again). Much too much is made of vents, especially double vents. Astaire wore a single vent. The real issue is the drape and fit of the suit.
