My first thought was "what a complete joke". Then I was thinking, "You know, they don't look too bad.... "

I suspect my first thought will prevail, but there is something oddly appealing about these backasswards shoes.

I'll be honest; I'm tempted to buy them.

I've Boss double monks, Italian style, in black but the buckles are on the other side of the shoe. The Barkers look weird, like brown Oxfords and 'mutant' Italian monk hybrids.

Black double monk (black) IMO are okay for dress shoes, instead of wearing 'velvet slippers' or patent leather.

Boss double monk crease easily, scratch easily and you pay for the designer label (~£260 I think), thus they are not every day shoes. Having said that they are more durable than velvet slippers (e.g. when it rains).

My advice to Barker is trendy Italian shoes are best left to the Italians.

They don't look bad, and I doubt that it was an accident; everything looks too consistent. Most people wouldn't notice.

The funny thing is that someone will post pictures here of themselves wearing this style, and the same people who are complaining will have a cyber orgasm over them and crown him their king.

Certain things I stand firmly against, no matter who wears it. Square toed shoes, striped ties in general, shoes that aren't leather (get shitty leather if you have to,) pants with too many pockets, hats that are even remotely black. All of that, and these shoes. They're just a bad idea.

^^ I am for all of those (agree with leather shoes) but still dislike these Barkers
