Double monk straps with jeans. Yea or nay?

Thinking bout buying some double monk straps from To Boot New York. Any experience with them? Quality, last, etc?
I think doubler monks would look great with jeans, comments?

Brown, they have an antique finish which I like.
Any comments on the brand, To Boot New York, quality, finish, etc. They are bit pricey, but I guess for double monks that's ok.

Their styling is more modern than AE, Alden, etc. I don't know about quality.

Are you looking at the Webster? That's a beautiful shoe, a little more fashion-forward than other popular double monks but still classic. I can't speak to the quality of construction, but it certainly looks nice.

Honestly, though, I don't think double monks work that well with jeans. I think single monks work a lot better. (In general, I like double monks much more than single monks, just not for jeans.)

There are many situations. Jeans are quite acceptable in casual workplaces, as they are in casual social situations.

It depends on the jeans. A nice slim cut with a narrow fitted opening in dark denim? YES YES YES. Dad's 501's? Not so much.

To Boot New York 'Webster' is an ok looking double monk, imo.

Zappos (as an example) currently have them at just under $300 http://www.zappos.com/product/7700304/color/257415 You could easily wear with denim or a suit. I have a pair of TBNY split chisled toe single monks in cognac scotchgrain. Solid construction. They are very nice, comfortable, and I receive a lot of compliments on them. You may also want to check out the Crockett & Jones 'Lowndes' as an alternative.
