Is there a specific name for the button-down dress shirts with 2 buttons at the top? I really like that look but have a HELL of a time finding them. Are there certain brands that offer them in slim and fitted styles?

I live in Chicago so I have access to most stores you'd recommend.

thanks

*collared, not collard...sorry

No specific name. They seem to be prevalent mostly with fashion-y brands. The only thing I can think of is Banana Republic or Express off the top of my head.

I'm too short and stocky for Banana Republic (5'10", 175lbs) and everything I've ever bought from Express has fallen apart or faded really fast.

I know Hugo Boss makes them...is this something that's hard find for under $100?

*I appreciate your reply, wasn't trying to be a jerk by saying those brands don't fit. Just didnt want others re-iterating the same

I have a GANT or something like that and it's gigantic and poorly made. What the hell was I thinking?

Nothing recommended here will be easy to find under 100$. One of the internet MTM shops can do that for about 45-70$ though, IIRC.

Hugo Boss is not really a favorite here.

How come Boss isn't a favorite here? Just curious. I'm new.

Their construction is ******, for one:

http://www.styleforum.net/showthread...highlight=boss

The general consensus, as I see it (I don't claim to speak for the whole forum), is that Boss's styling is uninspired, to say the least, and that they spend more on advertising than on putting out quality merchandise.

If a brand name pops into your head, do a search on it, and you'll get an idea of what you should be paying for it (for instance, Boss suit < 250$ if at all), as well as any problems someone may have had with it.

Welcome to the forum. Don't be getting into too much trouble now.

kuhlman has a store full of them.
Decent shirt for $70.

Made in a decent factory in Turkey. I am doing my best to talk customers out of two button collars, Unless they have a long neck. The look is a bit dated.

I like them. Maybe its just my facial/neck structure, but I think they look better on me. I do have a pretty long neck, and a large head, so I think it balances it out. Almost all my shirts are 2ble button Jantzens. With a tie, you can't really tell, and without, its just a little detail that hardly gets noticed. http://styleforum.net/showpost.php?p...&postcount=839

Borrelli has a model similar to what you are looking for. The name of the model is Livio. You can see how it looks like at the Borrelli webpage.
